Britain bans fast food advertising to children


bkbritThe British government has enacted tough new rules on food commercials aimed at children in an effort to counteract soaring obesity levels.

Burger King, which generated over $1 billion in sales in 2004, will lose over $195 million in revenues this year due to the ban.

BK Europe voluntarily cut company commercials aimed at children before the ban was enforced, but acknowledged that the new restrictions "will have a major impact.”
