Wendy’s offers three new salads |
Wendy’s has unveiled three new salads as lower-calorie alternatives to its burgers-and-fries.
The new Caesar Chicken Salad features romaine lettuce, chicken chunks, grape tomatoes, Parmesan cheese, Caesar dressing and garlic croutons totaling 500 calories, 34 grams of fat and 20 grams of carbohydrates. We suggest you hold the cheese and garlic croutons and ask for a low-fat dressing. This way you can order the baked potato with chili as a topping and leave feeling full without blowing your diet.
Wendy’s new Southwest Taco Salad includes Wendy’s Chili, cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes and mixed greens, with Ancho Chipotle Ranch dressing, tortilla strips and sour cream. At t 700 calories with 41 grams of fat and 51 grams of carbs, this is no weight-loss meal. Ask them to hold the cheese, tortilla strips and the sour cream and your waistline will be much better off. Better yet, opt for the low-fat dressing..
Their new Spinach Chicken Salad is made from romaine lettuce, baby spinach, chicken, chopped egg, grape tomatoes, sweet and sour bacon dressing and garlic croutons, and has fewer calories and lower fat than the other two new offerings. We like this one best – especially if you get the low-fat dressing and ditch the croutons. And the extra protein will keep your appetite under control a lot longer.
All three salads are priced at $4.19.
